From the Cruise 2014/2015 collection CHANEL brings us these beauties. After seeing them in-store a couple of weeks ago I cannot get them off of my mind! I absolutely adore the tweed pair, however I feel the black & gold is more versatile.
Who else is stoked to see all of the AMAZING designers that are set to show at this year's Fall fashion week in PARIS? I am most excited to see: Balenciaga, Givenchy, Saint Laurent, Kenzo, Celine, and of course our favorite...Chanel! The CHANEL FALL 2014 RTW show is set to go on at 10:30 am Tuesday March 4th at Grand Palais, avenue Winston Churchill, Paris 8e.

They say a bottle of CHANEL N°5 is sold every 30 seconds, if this is true or not I do not know but for any perfume to have remained at the height of popularity for over 90 years now says a lot. Coco Chanel wanted to challenge the status quo and create a fragrance that truly embodied a woman and contained more than a single floral scent like many of the other perfumes of that era.
Working with perfumer Ernest Beaux the scent was finalized in late summer of 1920. He came to her with several viles of perfumes, labeled 1-5 and 20-24. Chanel then chose vile no 5 to be the scent that would outlast many others. She had also told Ernest, "I present my dress collections on the fifth of May, the fifth month of the year and so we will let this sample number five keep the name it has already, it will bring good luck" (Gabrielle Chanel).
And luck it brought her, CHANEL N°5 quickly rose to popularity and became an icon along with Marilyn Monroe when she mentioned in an interview that all she wears to bed is N°5 . She was also photographed applying CHANEL N°5 for Redbook Magazine by photographer Ed Feingersh in 1955.
At this point, there seems to be nothing stopping this fragrance and I have a feeling that N°5 will be around for many years to come.
How
could I forget an event such as this? Coco Chanel’s 130th birthday
was this past Monday, August 19th. I’ve been thinking to the past
quite a bit lately as my Great Grandmother, “Gramsy”, would be having her 100th
birthday this coming November. She surely wouldn’t have purchased anything
Chanel let alone eat a $1.00 ice cream bar. Growing up in a different era certainly
gives you a different perspective.
Although my Gramsy and miss Coco Chanel seem
to be opposites in every sense of the word, they also posses many similarities
besides their good looks. These women have both inspired me beyond belief, taught
me to strive for things that I might otherwise think impossible, proven the
fact that sometimes less is more, and
showed me that being myself is always
the best person to be.

The new ring trend seems to be the midi-ring as well as "nail rings". I can't lie - I am a little more than obsessed with this look. I saw some dainty midi rings at the checkout counter at Urban Outfitters, but after drooling over these bad boys I think I need the real deal!
I spy some eyebrows. Heavy on the brows and simple everywhere else. Thick brows have been the trend for awhile and it doesn't look like they are going anywhere!
